Privacy policy

Short version: Bearing keeps your data on your devices, and the developer receives none of it.

What Bearing stores

Your sessions, tasks, areas, projects, goals and settings, in a local database on your Mac and on your iPhone.

Apple Health

With your permission, the iPhone app reads sleep, steps, exercise and similar metrics to show them next to your hours. Health data stays on the device and is never sent to the developer or to third parties.

Location (iPhone)

If you turn on Automatic Check-ins, Bearing uses the places you declare (for example “office” or “home”) to suggest what you are doing. Location is processed on the device and is not uploaded.

Sync between your devices

Sync is off by default. When you turn it on, data travels through your own iCloud, end-to-end encrypted with a key only your devices hold. The developer cannot read it.

No accounts, no analytics

Bearing has no account system, no advertising and no tracking. The only network traffic is the optional iCloud sync and any integration you connect yourself. This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other servers.

Deleting your data

Delete the app to remove its local data. If you used sync, remove the iCloud data in your Apple device’s Settings.
